FAQs

We ship UK only through the Royal Mail.  FREE postage is 2nd class. , but by all means we can despatch First Class for a small covering fee.  For larger orders, we will despatch free through Signed For, or Special Delivery.

We do try despatch all orders placed before 1400hrs (2 p.m) on the same day.

Royal Mail delivery times are 2-3 days for 2nd Class, or 1 day for First Class.

We know through experience that because of COVID-19, some areas are unfortunately taking longer.

As we are internet based, please email us at sales@ophirfindings.co.uk and we will reply to you as soon as possible – it may not be possible to pick up a phone call from you.

Whilst we do ship internationally through ebay, this is a UK only (and N. Ireland) site at this time.

We are of course  happy to accept returns. This is part of being a retailer.

Faulty Goods

In the unlikely event your purchase is found faulty, then we will either replace or refund the item, and also refund your return postage costs too.

Online Returns Timeline (“unwanted / unsuitable” Goods)

You have the right to cancel at any time from the moment you place your online order, and up to 14 days from the day you receive your goods. This is sometimes referred to as a ‘cooling-off period’.

You need to notify us of your wish to cancel your order within this time period – by email, for example.

You then have a further 14 days from the date you notify the retailer of your cancellation to return the goods.

Note

Yourself, the buyer will pay the return postage costs for your unwanted / unsuitable item. (we suggest you retain some form of “Proof of Postage” should the goods be lost in the post on return).

We are not able to accept returns for used goods, such as earring wires.

Yes they are, so you can buy with confidence.

Over many years, selling on ebay and Amazon, we have forged great links with many suppliers in the jewellery industry. We only buy from trusted, mainly UK sources, from large bullion and jewellery houses based in Hatton Garden, London, and the jewellery quarter in Birmingham.

Occasionally we will import from US and Australia to bring you the best variety of professional products.

We sell on ebay as “ophirjewellery999”.    We are an ebay Top-Rated Powerseller, selling for around 13 years and counting ! , with a 99%+ feedback rating.

These are the same UK made quality goods we sell on ebay,

but around 5-10 percent cheaper.

This is important, but something that is often confused.

“Stamping” means that an item has been “stamped” , e.g.  it displays an embedded marking of some kind, like “9ct” or “375” for example.

“Hallmarking” means that an item has been independently tested by an UK Assay Office,  and it’s metal content verified through analysis (assay).

Platinum over 0.5 grams, Gold over 1 gram, and Silver over 7.78 grams are required legally to be assayed and hallmarked.   You can read more here.

https://www.assayofficelondon.co.uk/hallmarking/what-is-a-hallmark

Many findings (jewellery components) fall below the weight for mandatory hallmarking, and are at the discretion of the manufacturer as to whether they would be stamped instead. Some are, some are not. On a rare occasion, manufacturers change process.

We at all times do try to provide the correct dimensions and weight for all products we sell.

Most of the time, the products are right on the button in size and weight but  occasionally  “manufacturer tolerance” can come in to play and sometimes weights, more than size, can vary a little.

Make sure you read the dimensions of the products before ordering as photographs are not shown to scale.
